Today, we’re highlighting Stephany Rodriguez, an exceptional Warehouse Materials Handler whose devotion and organizational skills ensure smooth operations at our Salisbury Plant in Salisbury, Massachusetts.
A Journey to OVIK Health
Stephany Rodriguez joined OVIK in 2021, and her journey started through a friend’s recommendation. “A friend told me of an open position, and I just applied and came here for the interview. So, he brought me here,” Stephany recalls. Since then, she has grown and thrived in her role, making significant contributions to our team.
A Day in the Life of a Shipping Coordinator
As a Warehouse Materials Handler, Stephany’s day is filled with crucial tasks that ensure our products reach customers on time and in perfect condition. “Every time that I come into the plant, I have to check reports, check all complete orders that we are shipping that day, and follow up with containers and scheduled orders,” she explains.
Stephany’s meticulous nature shines through in her role. “It’s going to sound strange, but I like to organize all the orders that I’m shipping the next day. I go ahead and print screens or whatever I’m going to need or plan for shipping in future days.” she shares when reflecting on her favorite part of her role.
Building Strong Work Relationships
Stephany values the strong relationships she has built with her colleagues. She works closely with Malvi Quintana De Jesus, another Warehouse Materials Handler. “I work very closely with the put-away person because he is in charge of bringing the things from production. He understands what I need and, every time I ask him for something, he’s there for me.”
When asked about someone who stands out at work, Stephany immediately mentions Malvi. When thinking about what makes him come to mind, she mentions, “His personality and he is very positive. So, you can ask everything to him. He’s going to have a very good attitude. He’s going to try to do his best to find or do the request. He’s always smiling. He’s a good person,” she notes.
Emphasizing Safety and Teamwork
Safety is a top priority at OVIK, and Stephany is committed to maintaining a safe work environment. “If I see someone performing a task unsafely, I tell them to put on their gloves or follow proper procedures. I prioritize safety because I want everyone to go home without injuries,” she emphasizes.
The Impact of OVIK’s Products
Working in the healthcare products division, Stephany recognizes the significant impact of their work. “The majority of the products that we do here are for medical and animal care, and sports medicine. So, it’s a good impact that the company has on other people that acquire the product,” she explains.
What Makes Working at OVIK Special
For Stephany, the supportive environment and strong sense of community make OVIK special. “The environment that we have here I think is the best. You cannot find that in too many jobs. We have a good group here of people that work together no matter what, we look for each other, and I think that’s the best part.” she says.
One of the highlights of working at the Salisbury Plant is the meal swapping events. These gatherings are more than just shared lunches; they are opportunities for team members to connect on a personal level. “We try to do some lunches together. Everybody brings whatever they know how to cook, and we share them with each other. We try to do it in December, Thanksgiving, and sometimes around this time of the year too,” Stephany shares.
Stephany fondly remembers one such event where she brought her famous ribs, a dish that quickly became a favorite among her colleagues. “Brian loves my ribs,” she laughs, and Brian Leary chimes in, “It’s good food, by the way. Good food.”
Balancing Work and Family
“If someone needs my help with anything and I know I can help, I just do it.” Outside of work, Stephany is a devoted mother to two children, aged six and one. She enjoys spending quality time with her family, engaging in activities like park visits and blueberry picking. “When my kids are happy, I’m happy too,” she shares.
Looking to the Future
Stephany’s perseverance and dedication are key to her success at OVIK. “I think the word that describes working at OVIK is perseverance. You need to be very persistent in doing something, despite delays, and achieve whatever you need to achieve or whatever your goal is in your life,” she reflects.
