Today, we highlight Amada Almonte, a Machine Operator at the Salisbury Plant in Salisbury, Massachusetts whose dedication and teamwork exemplify the best of OVIK.
A Journey with OVIK
Amada has been part of the OVIK family for five years. “A friend of mine who was working here helped me apply for a job opportunity,” she recalls. Since joining, Amada has flourished in her role, thanks to the support and mentorship of her colleagues.
Support and Mentorship
Bielka Espinal, a Production Team Leader, has been a significant influence on her work life. “Bielka is always there to support me and help me have everything I need,” Amada shares. “She motivates me every day to be a better team member.”
Daily Routine and Teamwork
Amada begins her day by attending the SQD (Safety, Quality, and Delivery) meeting with her lane lead and team members. “My favorite part of the day is when we are ‘all green’ with our goals,” she says, reflecting on the satisfaction of meeting their targets.
The teamwork at OVIK is something Amada deeply values. “We’re a great team that helps each other and are trained to cover any bottlenecks,” she explains. This close collaboration ensures that the team can efficiently overcome any challenges that arise.
Role and Responsibilities
Amada finds joy in her daily tasks, which include rewinding, slitting, and packing. “For me, this doesn’t seem like a job because I find that it is fun to do. I really enjoy what I do every day,” she says. Her positive attitude and enjoyment of her work contribute to her effectiveness and productivity.
Safety First
Safety is Amada’s top priority. “I stay safe by identifying and reporting hazards when I see them and work on them if I can,” she emphasizes. Her proactive approach ensures a secure working environment for herself and her colleagues.
Making a Difference
Being part of OVIK means making a significant impact. “It feels good being part of a team that makes a difference and a company that cares for us,” Amada notes. Her contributions help ensure that OVIK continues to deliver high-quality products to thousands of people.
What She Loves Most
Amada loves helping out in various areas and enjoys the camaraderie and the nature of the work. “Everything that I do in my day to day, like rewinding, which is where I’m assigned to, but also in the slitting or packing areas. I love helping, and our work is not hard to do,” she says.

When asked to describe her experience at OVIK in one word, Amada chose excelencia, which translates to excellence. She explains, “I feel good working for an excellent place like this.” This word captures her appreciation for the company’s high standards and supportive environment.
A Personal Story
Being an OVIK associate holds special meaning for Amada. “Prior to being hired here, I was without a job for more than a year and a half. I had a critical brain surgery that kept me away from work and activities for a long time. After recovering, it was very hard for me to get a job, and this company gave me the opportunity to come back to work. I’m eternally grateful for this opportunity,” she shares. This experience underscores the importance of the opportunity OVIK provided her and highlights the company’s commitment to its associates.
