Today, we highlight Anyelina Villa Ortega, an Advanced Machine Operator, who has been nominated by Jorge Martinez Lanza, Operations Manager, for her outstanding work ethic and dedication.
A Journey Marked by Dedication
Anyelina’s OVIK journey began six years ago. “I love my job and love working for OVIK,” she says, reflecting on her time with the company. Her path is a testament to her enthusiasm and hard work, qualities that have not gone unnoticed by her peers and supervisors.
Excellence in Action
Jorge Martinez Lanza, who nominated Anyelina, praises her for her remarkable precision in leading the Algus U-10 machine. “Her dedication to hitting rate is unmatched, and she’s always willing to assist her teammates in other areas,” Jorge notes. Anyelina’s role involves running the Algus U-10, where bandages are packed into clamshells for our retail partners. “I’m in charge of setting up the machine, entering recipes into the laser, ordering materials for our work orders, and inspecting the quality of materials as we pack them,” she explains. Her meticulous approach ensures that the packing line remains productive and efficient.
A Day in the Life
Anyelina’s day starts early. “I carpool with my co-workers, punch in, and we’re ready for our safety tailgate meeting at 6:45 am,” she says. Safety is a priority, and the team discusses the board and the day’s schedule. “At lunch, I like to sit out in the yard and have great conversations with my line coworkers,” she adds. The camaraderie within her team is evident. “We all get along, are respectful to each other, and when there are troubles, we all help each other,” she says, highlighting the strong teamwork that defines their daily operations.
Commitment to Safety
Safety is paramount in Anyelina’s role. “I’m always sure I have all the PPE on me, and that my coworkers have theirs, looking for any site hazards around the line,” she emphasizes. Maintaining good housekeeping practices ensures that the work environment is safe for everyone.
Making a Difference
Being part of a team that impacts thousands of end-users is a source of pride for Anyelina. “I feel satisfied and happy. I want our end-users to be happy with the quality of our products,” she says. Her commitment to excellence ensures that the products reaching customers meet the highest standards.
The Marvelous Experience
Describing her experience at OVIK in one word, Anyelina chooses “maravilloso” which translates to marvelous. She elaborates, “It has been a marvelous experience for me since this was my first job since I moved to this country.” Working at OVIK has given her a sense of importance and appreciation. “My manager appreciates my work, and I feel they like the way I work,” she says.
A Recommendation for Prospective Employees
Anyelina has high praise for OVIK. “It is a great company to work for, with great communication and respect for their employees,” she says. To her, being a OVIK associate holds significant meaning. “I’m always telling my family and friends how much I like working here. Even though I have a long commute, I would not change my job. I feel listened to and that OVIK considers my ideas,” she concludes.
