Description
These instructions are for CoFlex AFD and CoFlex UMAFD.
CoFlex AFD and CoFlex UMAFD is a non-latex, non-sterile, self-adhering bandage with an
attached absorbent foam pad. The cohesive bandage allows the wrap to stick to itself
but not to other material or skin with Easy Tear technology intended for quick and easy
application. This dressing is designed to be worn up to three days.
Indications for Use
CoFlex AFD and CoFlex UMAFD is intended for use as an all-in-one trauma/combat bandage
to compress and support with quick, easy application in high-stress situations.
Contraindications
None known
Precautions & Warnings
• CoFlex AFD and UMAFD self-adherent wrap will not slip or loosen after application.
DO NOT wrap too tightly to avoid impairing circulation and potentially causing
serious injury.
• Monitor area frequently (no less than every 24 hours) for signs of swelling,
discoloration, pain, numbness, tingling, or other changes in sensation. If these
symptoms occur, remove wrap immediately and contact your Health Care provider.
• DO NOT place CoFlex AFD and CoFlex UMAFD cohesive bandages in direct contact with
an open wound because it may lead to infection.
• Do Not Reuse. CoFlex AFD and CoFlex UMAFD cohesive bandage is a single use product.
• If redness or irritation occurs, discontinue use.
• Any serious incident that has occurred in relation to the device should be reported to
the manufacturer and the competent authority of the Member State in which the
user and/or patient is established.
Directions for Use
General Instructions:
(1) Tear package at notch (CoFlex UMAFD ) or open flow film and remove bandage.
(2) Remove foam stored in roll core (CoFlex UMAFD ).
(3) Additional foam provided for application (CoFlex UMAFD ) or place a primary dressing
(CoFlex AFD).
(4) Unroll bandage and place foam pad attached to bandage over packed wound (CoFlex UMAFD) or primary dressing (CoFlex AFD).
(5) Wrap wound with remainder of bandage.
(6) Seal the end of the bandage wrap with your finger, lightly meshing the top of the
bandage into the bottom layer. This will provide long staying power.
Removal/Disposal
• CoFlex AFD and CoFlex UMAFD bandages may be removed by unwrapping or with
bandage scissors.
• Dispose of product per your facilities protocol.
Storage
For best results, store CoFlex AFD and CoFlex UMAFD bandages in original packaging
at room temperature until use. Avoid excessive heat and humidity. Refer to the label on
each box for expiration date.
